"Superhero School: Imagining an inclusive and digital education system adapted to students with cancer"

About the project

Creation of an innovative system for prevention, detection, intervention and monitoring to achieve inclusion, educational success and recovery for students with cancer.

Children who use prosthetics due to cancer or accidents face a particularly delicate moment when they return to school. Far from being solely a period of recovery and reunion, in many cases they encounter looks of incomprehension, fear and social barriers that hinder their well-being, inclusion and educational development.

This project was created to transform that reality. We promote an innovative comprehensive system of prevention, detection, intervention and monitoring that places the well-being of students at the center and promotes their inclusion, educational success and recovery process. Through a cross-cutting strategy, the project promotes action programmes in educational centers that cover all areas, with personalised itineraries and specific resources, supported by an intelligent digital platform.

In addition, an innovative proposal has been developed to foster a positive, empathetic and committed attitude among students towards diversity: the SUPERHERO STRATEGY, an initiative that promotes values of respect, support and coexistence, making school a safe and inclusive space for everyone.

What teachers and families say
"

Thanks to the Superhero School resources, our class welcomed Marco back after his treatment in a way that felt completely natural. The children had been prepared and greeted him as a true hero. It was one of the most moving moments of my teaching career.

The Superhero Day brought the whole school together around a message of inclusion. Students who had never spoken about diversity before were suddenly leading conversations about empathy and respect. I am deeply grateful for this project.

As a parent, nothing is harder than watching your child feel excluded after months of illness. The Superhero School guide gave the teachers the tools to prepare everyone — and my daughter walked back into school feeling celebrated, not different.

The AI platform helped us map our school's current level of inclusion and build a concrete action plan step by step. It is practical, easy to use, and the results were immediately actionable for our team.

The R5 course for teachers completely changed how our staff approaches the topic of illness and vulnerability in the classroom. The materials are thoughtful, evidence-based, and immediately applicable. We have already recommended it to three other schools.
